Verdict The Canon Rebel T7 (known as the EOS 2000D in Europe, and as the EOS 1500D in Australasia) is essentially a 24-megapixel replacement for Canon's previous cheapest camera, the EOS 1300D (Rebel T6). It's also one step up from Canon's even cheaper Rebel T100 (EOS 4000D), though that model is no longer on general sale.
This Canon took the EOS 1300D, removed functionality and reduced it's build quality, and put a badge on it saying "4000D". The true replacement for the 1300D was the 2000D, which is a better camera. But the M50 and M50 Mk. II (which is, hardware-wise, just about the same as the original M50) are better choices.
